房间里 suddenly became quiet, the tension was palpable. I couldn't believe what I just heard. My mind was racing, trying to process the situation.
I stood up straight, looking at him with a stern expression. “You can't do this!” I said firmly.
Old man smirked again and leaned back in his chair. “Oh? Why not?” He asked with an air of superiority.
I took a deep breath and began to explain my side of the story. I told him about all the hard work I had put in over the years, all the late nights and weekends spent working on projects that benefited the company directly or indirectly.
As I spoke, my voice grew louder and more passionate, but also controlled by sheer determination to make my point clear: that being fired without any valid reason would be unfair and unjustifiable.
Old man listened attentively throughout my speech, his face remained calm but there seemed to be some hint of surprise mixed with curiosity in his eyes as he watched me defend myself so fiercely against his unexpected decision.
Finally when I finished speaking, he nodded slowly before opening up a folder on his desk filled with documents related to our company's policies regarding employee dismissal procedures which were clearly stated within them that termination could only happen if it is justified by compelling reasons like underperformance or misconduct amongst others; however there wasn't even one single mention anywhere about "no reason" cases!
With this new information revealed from those papers we both knew right then & there — no matter how much anger or sadness might still linger inside either one us after such shocking turn events — yet ultimately acknowledging truth as it stands now…
We shook hands
"I understand."
